Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Totteridge
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Totteridge takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. As a provider of transportation and moving services, we recognise our responsibility to uphold and promote respect for human rights in all areas of our business.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man with Van Totteridge operates a strict zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, servitude and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with, support, or benefit from any organisation or individual involved in these practices. This commitment applies to our employees, contractors, and all tiers of our supply chain.
All workers must be engaged on fair and transparent terms, with wages, working hours, rest breaks and conditions that meet or exceed legal and industry standards. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter and may result in termination of contracts or employment, as well as reporting to relevant authorities where appropriate.
Our Supply Chain and Supplier Standards
Our supply chain primarily includes vehicle providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, and subcontracted transport partners. We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery and to operate in line with applicable labour and human rights laws.
We communicate our expectations regarding ethical conduct, employment practices and worker welfare to existing and new suppliers. We may decline to work with or may discontinue working with any supplier unable or unwilling to demonstrate adequate safeguards against modern slavery in their operations.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
Man with Van Totteridge undertakes proportionate due diligence on suppliers, focusing on those areas assessed as higher risk for labour exploitation. This includes gathering information about recruitment practices, use of subcontractors, worker documentation, and grievance mechanisms.
We reserve the right to carry out audits or request evidence from suppliers to confirm compliance with our modern slavery standards. These audits may include site visits, document reviews and discussions with management. Where issues are identified, we will seek to agree corrective action plans with clear timescales. If suppliers fail to make satisfactory improvements, we may suspend or end the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage employees, contractors, and any third party connected with our business to report concerns about modern slavery, human trafficking or any other unethical labour practice. Reports can be made through internal management channels or through any established whistleblowing routes within our organisation.
All reports are taken seriously and treated sensitively. We are committed to ensuring that no person raising a concern in good faith faces retaliation or adverse treatment as a result. Where credible concerns are raised, we will investigate promptly, take remedial action where necessary, and, where required, cooperate with law enforcement and relevant authorities.
Training and Awareness
To support the effectiveness of this statement, we promote awareness of modern slavery risks among relevant staff, especially those involved in procurement, contractor management and day-to-day supervision of workers. Training and guidance focus on recognising indicators of exploitation, understanding reporting procedures, and appreciating the importance of ethical sourcing.
Monitoring and Annual Review
Man with Van Totteridge is committed to continuous improvement in identifying and reducing the risk of modern slavery within our operations and supply chains. We will review this Modern Slavery Statement at least once every year, or sooner if there are significant changes in legislation, our business activities or identified risk areas.
As part of the annual review, we will assess the effectiveness of our policies, due diligence procedures, audits, and training. Where gaps or new risks are identified, we will update our approach and take additional steps to strengthen protections for workers and uphold our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery.
This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Totteridge and represents our ongoing commitment to conducting business in a responsible, transparent and ethical manner.
